bound by fear 12" Vinyl
SimplyDogpack's fifth LP releasing May 8th, 2026 highlights the heavier part of his sound that was first hinted towards in third LP "One Way Street." This time the heavy sound is even heavier, with metalcore and grunge moments while still respecting the former electronic sound.
"ashes clouding the sky" is a track about the looming threat of the world ending via nuclear warfare, featuring the industrial metal sound of bands like Nine Inch Nails.
"silence" is a track reminiscent of 1990s grunge bands like Nirvana and Stone Temple Pilots, it explores the themes of isolating from friends when you're depressed or anxious.
"blue moon" is about rare events and has a hybrid sound of electronica and metalcore.
"stillness" is snippet of europop on this metal record, and it is about the stillness of motion in nature, taking a break from the anxiety theme of the album.
"bound by fear" is the center of the record, covering the album's theme of being bound by fear when you're hit with anxiety, a rut that seems impossible to escape. the song explores the sound of 2000s metalcore often coined "revivalcore."
